Delivery policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Custom Chocolate is based in Johannesburg. Every order is couriered door-to-door by The Courier Guy to anywhere in South Africa. We do not offer collection.
Delivery charges
Gauteng: R150 excl. VAT for a standard order, or R250 excl. VAT for a larger order of 251 units or more.
Outside Gauteng: R250 excl. VAT for a standard order, or R400 excl. VAT for a larger order of 251 units or more.
VAT is added at the current rate. Your delivery charge is shown on your quote and invoice before you pay.
Orders that are quoted separately
Very large or heavy orders, multiple delivery addresses, urgent or same-day deliveries, and deliveries to remote or outlying areas may cost more. We will confirm the exact charge on your quote before you pay — there are no surprise fees after payment.
No collection
To keep your chocolate safe and your order trackable, all orders are delivered by courier. We are unable to offer collection from our premises.
When your order is dispatched
Production and courier time are separate. Production starts once we have your payment, your logo or artwork, and your approval of the artwork proof.
Most products are ready in 2–5 working days after approval. Some products and larger quantities take longer; we confirm timing on your quote. Any delay in payment, artwork or approval moves the dispatch date.
Courier delivery time
Main centres are usually delivered 1–3 working days after dispatch; regional and outlying areas can take longer. Courier times are estimates, not guaranteed dates, and exclude weekends and public holidays.
If your chocolate is needed for an event, wedding or conference, tell us the date when you ask for a quote so we can confirm it is achievable. We recommend having it delivered at least two working days before the event.
Urgent orders may be possible depending on production and courier availability. Extra charges may apply.
Your delivery address
Please give us a full delivery address: recipient or company name, street address, unit or office number, suburb, city, postal code and a contact number.
We are not responsible for delays caused by an incorrect or incomplete address. Extra courier charges for failed delivery, re-delivery or a change of address after dispatch will be charged to you.
Make sure someone is available to receive the parcel during business hours. A business address usually works best.
Chocolate and heat
Chocolate is temperature-sensitive. We pack it carefully, but conditions in transit are outside our control.
Please do not leave a delivered parcel outside, in direct sunlight or in a hot car. Store chocolate in a cool, dry place (ideally 15–20°C) as soon as it arrives.
During very hot weather we may suggest adjusting the dispatch date to protect your chocolate. We will always check with you first.
Tracking
We send you the tracking number once your order has been dispatched, so you can follow it to your door.
Damaged, missing or incorrect items
Please check your order as soon as it arrives. Report any damage, missing items or incorrect products to us on WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery.
Send your invoice number, a short description and photos of the courier box and the products. Please keep the packaging and products until we have assessed the problem.
This does not limit your rights under South African consumer law.
International orders
We deliver within South Africa. For international orders, contact us and we will advise on freight, customs and costs.
